Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) General Manufacturing Statement

Dear Valued Customer,

Headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama; Lakeland Industries, Inc., is a global leader in the manufacturing of protective clothing to help improve the quality of safety for the industrial workforce including electric and gas utilities, petrochemical, hazardous waste sites, chemical handling, cleanrooms, fire services, and road crews, to name a few.

Backed by 40 years of time-tested, high-performance workwear, we help empower our customers to provide the safest working environment possible.

Lakeland does not use PFAS chemicals in manufacturing its products. We have reached out to our vendors to determine if PFAS chemicals are used to produce garment components, fabrics, or other materials used by Lakeland in the manufacturing of our garments. We have learned, that while most material suppliers do not use any PFAS chemicals, there are some that do. The use of these PFAS containing components is currently required to produce garments that meet the U.S. structural fire-fighting gear performance standard, NFPA 1971, 2018 Edition. These chemicals are eliminated during the processing of the raw materials (PTFE moisture barriers). Small trace amounts may remain in the finished product and do not affect the safety or performance of the product.

Some raw materials that may contain trace amounts, meet, and comply with the PFAS limit values set forth in Appendix 4 of the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX, Class II.

Please feel free to reach out to Lakeland should you require further information.
