Polyfluoroalkyl Substances Statement for Pyrolon® Products

Polyfluoroalkyl Substances Statement for Pyrolon® Products

Issued: Aug 03, 2023

Lakeland does not use Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) chemicals in manufacturing its products. We have reached out to our vendors to determine if PFAS chemicals are used to produce garment components, fabrics, or other materials used by Lakeland in the manufacturing of our garments. We have learned, that while most material suppliers do not use any PFAS chemicals, there are some that do.

The use of these PFAS containing components is currently required to produce garments that meet specific performance requirements. Though our suppliers continue working diligently to reduce, or eliminate the use of these chemicals, there are some performance requirements that currently cannot be achieved without the use of certain PFAS Chemicals.

A PFAS Chemical is currently used to treat and produce product performance requirements of Lakeland Pyrolon® garments. The trace amounts of this chemical may not meet the PFAS Limits set forth in Appendix 4 of the Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX, Class II.

This information is based upon information provided to us by the suppliers of raw materials and processing aids used to manufacture our products.

As a worldwide manufacturer of Personal Protective Equipment, it is Lakeland Industries intent to follow all international, federal, state, and local regulations concerning PFAS substances.
